Eleanora Carisi | The Fashion Editor, Blooger and Designer | Italian Style Icon

MY GIRL CRUSH | FASHIONISTA
My favourite fashion blogger has to be Italian Eleonora Carisi. With her girlish, pretty edgy look, I simply love and adore her style. She never shys away from colour, all seasons are filled with the brightest hues, dressed by the best Italian designers and not, she loves Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, MSGM and Louis Vuitton to name a few. Her look never fails to have the best accessories from her stunning sunglasses to her bold jewellery.

She is the woman behind the blog Jou Jou Villeroy, she is a fashion editor at Grazia Italy and is a designer at What's Inside You. She is an entrepreneur and also owns a boutique, Maze,  in Torino, Italy. She is seen with fellow style icons Anna Dello Russo and is photographed during fashion weeks numerous times.
Her quirky, girly look, with her dip dyed wavy 1950s hair, she is definitely my style icon, muse and inspiration.

Auguri di  buon compleanno in ritardo Eleonora, sei fantastica!

FROM BLUE TO PINK: HER STYLE
Beautiful, successful and stylish, who said we cannot have it all.

Lino Ieluzzi | Menswear Style Icon with a true Italian Tailored Charm and Fashion

Lino Ieluzzi, the epitome of Italian menswear style and tailored suits, he is a style menswear icon, and a true gentleman.
He has been photographed firstly by Scott Schuman from the Sartorialist, and that’s where the world came to know of him, obviously in the menswear industry he was already famous .

He is the boutique owner of Al Bazar in Milan, a menswear store, which evolved from a jeans and t-shirt shop to a the destination for aristocrats and men seeking the perfect coat or suit.
You can see him wearing the most perfect tailored suits, always double breasted, the chain hanging from his trousers, the made to measure shoes and of course smoking a cigarette.
I had the chance of snapping him during Pitti Uomo three times, 82, 83, 84 and even spoke to him. He is very charming and one of the biggest gentlemen I have ever met. He also invited me for a chat and a coffee once I return to Milan, and I will definitely take him up on his offer.

BUON COMPLEANNO LINO

PRADA Spring/Summer 2014 | Artists & Miuccia become Art Couture | MFW

The art inspiration which makes Miuccia a genius
When I saw the collection for the first time, I was a bit perplexed, but somehow, seeing it over and over again made me want it, especially the coats and the crystal encrusted sport dresses.
The venue was adorned by street artists hired by Miuccia just for the show to paint murals on the walls. She then mixed high fashion with components from the street, sport, art and couture.
Her woman is a gangster, a leader, a woman which rules the world and with Britney Spears in the background, to the tune of "work bitch!", simply added all the elements together.
Picasso like extracts from a painting printed on the garments with a 3D effect, encrusted bras worn on top of the dresses and even bras sewn as part of a dress with a lot of colour blocking to complement it. Sport midi length silk dresses, had crystals encrusted on them, long fur coats which were as rare as a painting, tube socks, sport collars, feathers and lady like bags.
Miuccia is pure genius, she is not only pushing Prada towards heaven, but she is making Prada become God. She is  creating collectables, which one must have, wear and then give to their children. No wonder Anna Wintour wears Prada over and over again. I'm already imaging the next vintage hunter like Hamish Bowles finding one of these rare Prada pieces from this collection at a vintage store in Paris.
A different collection, like none other, a break up from he usual monotonous simple classic collections to a hued artistry collection for a woman ready to concur the world.

From what I learned, Prada is the devil and the ruler and Miuccia confirmed this!

Fausto Puglisi | Spring/Summer 2014 | Leather Meets Romance | MFW

A tropical biker takes us to Milan | Great debut by Fasuto Puglisi
As beautiful and delicate as roses are, the pricks on the stem will hurt. They are red and passionate, black and aggressive. That is the opposite kind of contrast which Fausto Puglisi took and manipulated for his debut at Milan Fashion Week.
This man updated the feminine woman into a rock heroin with all this leather.

Describing it as "American couture meets Guns 'n' Roses" he did just that, biker leather, rock chic, harnesses and belts with embroided floral motifs and silhouettes pertaining to a woman. Karolina Kurkova opened the show, and what a way to start his first ever show, with such a super model.
What a mixture, and what freshness. Romantic yet hawkish, the looks were a sublime balance between these two. Structured skirts, long legs, pointed hells and biker jackets. Buttoned up shirts, with a different coloured lining, gave a very smart twist to this rock affair. Colour blocking in red, pink , white and black and solid coloured skirts, fit well with the elaborated tropical inspired floral prints.

Harnessed bondage tops, gave little to the imagination, and whip like leather belts around the waist featured in every look. Maxi skirts and beautiful long gowns contrasted well with leather infusion, whilst the hair was a model image of Axl Roses's hair, wild and free.
He said it was a marriage between Carolina Herrera and Axl Rose, and it was just that - a tribute to beautiful women.

Milan Fashion Week welcomed another talented designer, worthy of his debut and his success. Having a top model open your show and fashion directors like Anna Dello Russo wearing your designs, there must be something rare in him.  He is the future of Italian fashion, another breath of fresh air to fashion.
Benvenuto.
