The menswear brand SROTA featured me on their blog this week in their section Learn From the Ladies.  They did an interview about my view of men, menswear and style sins. It was fun to answer and when I read again what I wrote, I smile.

All Saints 'Below The Knee' Campaign | The Footwear Collection Film Project

SNAP A PICTURE | POST IT @ALLSAINSTLIVE #BELOWTHEKNEE
All Saints Below The Knee | Photo by Laura Muscat @lauramuscat
One of my favourite brands All Saints, approached me about their new project Below The Knee. Not knowing how they found my blog, I guess  it was all related to my instagram photos of shots of myself and my shoes from 'below the knee' and probably the secret snapshots of people in the tube in London.

This campaign launched nine days ago, and its a film project to present their new footwear collection with  43 different styles. Shot in New York, they invited women who have a certain love/"fetish" for shoes (like me), to be part of this black and white beauty from below the knee, inspired by cinéma verité. Six Styles of shoes are the main attractions as well as the voices of these women. A lovely rendition of how fashion and film should be.

Movember with Cisk Malta | Be Aware and Grow your Fashion Moustache

MOVEMBER in MALTA with my Fake Moustache | Let's Raise Awareness
Movember | Cisk Malta and La Maison Sartorie D'Amber
Cisk Malta and Farsons are spreading the Movember bug all over my beautiful island of Malta. Cisk is trying to raise awareness through this campaign about men's health - Testicular cancer, prostate cancer and mental illness.

My good friend Marco Debono, the brand manager of Cisk, sent me some moustaches to promote this very important campaign with a bit of fun here in London.

Movember started in Australia, and I remember my Australian friend Geoff Quattromani, growing his moustache every November just for this purpose, intended to spread the word, and make men more conscious about these diseases. Funds are raised [N] MOVEMBER just by growing the stache and becoming a Mo Bro.

“This is all about raising awareness and breaking the taboo still associated with men getting cancer,” said Marco Debono, Brand Executive for Cisk.

“October is dedicated to breast cancer which has helped raise awareness among women to get checked and spot cancer in its earliest stages when the survival rates are much higher. Movember aims to do the same thing with men, turning ordinary men into walking billboards to raise awareness about men’s health.”

I put on the moustache sticker sent by Marco and Cisk with my vintage white fur coat and played around with funny looks, pouts and selfies.

Gagliardi | Autumn/Winter 2013 Menswear Collection | Sartorial Elegance

The Mediterranean man’s style infused with Savile Row finesse and the Italian Sartorial elegance, that’s Gagliardi for you, Malta’s very own international menswear brand
Gagliardi’s history starts in Malta in 1964. Since then the brand has come a long way, establishing itself as one of the leading and most sought after menswear brands in Malta and it is slowly leading its way into the European market, having shop in stores in major department stores in Europe.

For their latest collection, Autumn/Winter 2013, Gagliardi, chose to inspire themselves by the Italian ski resort Cortina. Their man, is a man who chooses his clothes well, makes sure he looks good every day, whether he is going to work, a casual evening out, or to watch sports with the boys. I see Gagliardi attracting the young ostentatious man, like the movie character “Alfie” played by Michael Caine and Jude Law, and the elegant career oriented gentleman, which reminds me of Humphrey Bogart in “Sabrina” wearing suits and bow ties as part of his daily attire, and luxurious velvet dinner jackets in the evening. It’s a classic timeless collection, which finds its roots in the tailoring masters of Savile Row and Italy.

This time round, the brand chose to keep some key pieces from previous collections, like the Gagliardi quilted jacket in Alcantra leather, whilst introducing new ones, which include the wax coated cotton washed jacket and the interesting introduction to cable knitwear, whilst making sure that comfort and style are well intact.
Its a collection which includes details such as elbow patches, patch pockets, and the new  colours of Bordeaux, purple, winter white, warm mustard, rusty orange, forest green, smoky grey and icy blue.

Denimjackets, and wool jackets, washed cord, polo shirts, checked shirts and knitwear. They introduced a combination of cotton and cashmere and a range of shirts for the casual man to the business man, in different colours, prints and patterns. Having also the “Non-Iron” shirt, aiming to attract the urban, busy and metropolitan man.

Tailored business suits have now become one of their carry on classic pieces, and this season lovely addition was the three-piece suit which styled with a tie-pin shirt collar, a bow-tie and a double cuff shirt, and my favourite printed velvet, paisley and silk party jackets will get you ready for any kind of black tie event.

Lastly, their accessories range includes beautiful printed pocket squares in silk and wool, classic, fashion and bow ties and signature Gagliardi cufflinks. The footwear is the right number of shoes which are essential in every man's wardrobe; black and brown Derbies, brogues, loafers and other models which come in a range of leather and even coloured suede.

THE COLLECTION
The Gagliardi showroom in Malta

They sent me 2 pocket squares, as a gift and we are coming up with an outfit post together, an intriguing fusion of men’s accessories for a very feminine fashion blogger.
Gagliardi is a menswear brand to watch, the prices are very affordable and the quality is very good. This Mediterranean brand with sartorial references to Britain and Italy is managing to build customers all over world, cultivating menswear elegance and style for every man. With an online shop, which ships worldwide, the brand is growing fast, and taking the brand everywhere.

Lino Ieluzzi | Menswear Style Icon with a true Italian Tailored Charm and Fashion

Lino Ieluzzi, the epitome of Italian menswear style and tailored suits, he is a style menswear icon, and a true gentleman.
He has been photographed firstly by Scott Schuman from the Sartorialist, and that’s where the world came to know of him, obviously in the menswear industry he was already famous .

He is the boutique owner of Al Bazar in Milan, a menswear store, which evolved from a jeans and t-shirt shop to a the destination for aristocrats and men seeking the perfect coat or suit.
You can see him wearing the most perfect tailored suits, always double breasted, the chain hanging from his trousers, the made to measure shoes and of course smoking a cigarette.
I had the chance of snapping him during Pitti Uomo three times, 82, 83, 84 and even spoke to him. He is very charming and one of the biggest gentlemen I have ever met. He also invited me for a chat and a coffee once I return to Milan, and I will definitely take him up on his offer.

BUON COMPLEANNO LINO
